Description
This is an EMC-R 48 V electric motor drive kit with regenerative braking by Electric Motorsport designed for electric vehicle builds, conversions, etc.
Electric Motorsport's EMC-R is the same motor used in the Native Z6 scooter electric motorcycle.
EMC-R Motor
- Brush-type Permanent Magnet DC motor.
- Light weight, high efficiency design.
- Designed for 24-48 VDC battery operated equipment.
- 150 amps continuous at 48V (300 amps for 1 minute)
- Capable of 4.8 KW continuous and 15 KW for 1 minute.
- Totally open, fan cooled motor.
- Runs in either direction
The R-Motor has the highest power/weight/dollar ratio available on the market for brushed PM motors. This motor is also a bolt-in replacement for the original Etek. Runs a little faster than the Perm and Lynch or Lemco motors.
It is highly recommended that you purchase a programming device to ensure proper functionality and efficiency of your drive system.

Contactor
Contactors (also known as solenoids) are used to connect and disconnect main battery buss power. When it is time to turn your vehicle on or off, the contactor will engage or disengage the power at the flip of a switch. This is very usefull in an emergency situation when main power needs to be turned off quickly and easily.

When adding this kit to your shopping cart, you will be prompted to choose a contactor coil voltage. Kits using a Sigmadrive or Alltrax controller must be paird with a contactor that matches the nominal voltage of the intended battery pack. Sevcon controllers will be paired with a 24v contactor.
