How far can I expect to travel on the Electric SM?

Range varies on many factors such as the rate of incline, rate of acceleration, gearing, and weight of rider. With a 165 lb rider on level ground with gearing set to 52 mph and the controller set to 350 amps we have averaged about 20 miles. Upgrading to LiFePO4 batteries will tripple the range of the Electric SM.

How fast can the electric SM go?
An Electric SM with stock gearing is set to 45 mph. The bike can be geared between 45 and 62 mph.

Is there a storage compartment on the bike?
No, but after market saddle backs or carring cases may be used.

Can I ride the Electric SM in the rain?
Yes you can ride the bike in the rain. One should be aware that tire traction and stopping ability are compromised by wet conditions.

Is the Electric SM a two-passenger vehicle?
Yes, The Electric SM is a two-passenger vehicle. The vehicle is equiped with a set of passenger foot pegs.

What is the estimated life of the 48-Volt SLA Battery pack?
The life of the SLA batteries depends on how well they are maintained. We have experienced any where from 200-500 charge cycles. The following concepts will greatly increase the life of the batteries;

1. Keep depth of discharge to a minimum.
2. Charge the batteries after every use no mater how short of a trip
3. Do not let the vehicle sit uncharged for extended periods of time

How is the speed and range adjustable?
Range and speed are adjustable through gearing and controller programming. The controller is programmable with any Windows based PC though a serial port interface. This allows one to adjust the bike performance with a laptop computer. Range, acceleration, torque, and throttle response can be programmed to meet the needs of the rider.

Does the charger plug into 120 VAC outlet?
Yes, the Electric GPR's 48 Volt 10 amp Smart charger plugs into any 11O-120 AC outlet.

What type of warranty does the bike come with?
A new Electric SM comes with a one year warranty on all electronic parts. The warranty covers any Manufacturer's defects excluding expendables for a period of one year. Expendables include batteries, tires, light bulbs, and brake pads.

How can I get service for my Electric SM?
Just about any motorcycle shop can service the mechanical parts of the Electric SM. The electrical components do not need servicing. The motors brushes need changing every 3,000 miles. The brush card change is very easy and can be done buy the owner.
